Dear First Lutheran,

We are called together as the body of Christ and we are joined
together through our Baptism and the work of the Holy Spirit.
I have come to understand these promises in new ways during
the past several months. We don’t have to be sitting in the sanctuary or the same room to pray, gather and worship together. God can use the digital tools of radio and the internet to weave us together wherever-and whenever- we may worship. I think it is so cool to think about worshiping the same God together, even if we are in different places and doing it at different times, because the Holy Spirit still makes us one.

So, whether you are worshiping at home, over the radio,
on Facebook, Livestream in real time, from the lake, on the road, at a family members house, a hotel, the forest, an RV, on
the couch with the archived service, or gathered in the sanctuary, the Holy Spirit brings us all together in Christ’s church.
We understand that for many of us, we are not yet comfortable gathering in-person to worship together.
We want you to stay healthy and well, so please make decisions that are best for you and your well-being.
The Church Council continues to monitor the impact of COVID-19 on our community, as they have been
doing for many months now, and will promptly communicate any changes, if there are any in the coming weeks, for our life together.

May we continue to worship together, wherever and whenever we may find ourselves
during these precious summer months, trusting that we indeed are “One in Christ”.
Thanks be to God!

In God’s Grip,

Pastor Ellery
